HTC Phones Versus Samsung Phones – Outdoing and Outselling Rivals

For all the talk of the Apple iPhone 4.0, the year 2010 most certainly belonged to HTC phones and Samsung phones. With sales of their smartphones touching dizzying heights, the going could not have been any better for these two industry veterans phone tracker.

HTC phones and Samsung phones are both known the world over for their superior quality smartphone that delivers more than they promise. After all, the higerst selling smartphones currently in the UK are the HTC Desire and the Samsung Galaxy S only. Of course, there are countless other smartphone from these two mobile phone majors that have done equally well this year. Some of these include, HTC Legend, HTC HD2, and the Samsung Tocco Lite and Samsung Genio Touch. Again, these are just two more names from both these mobile phone manufacturers with several others doing equally well in the market place this year.

All said and done it is obviously the season for smartphone now. There have been a record climb in the sales figures of HTC phones and Samsung phones this year. And the source is the Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker from IDC. This quarterly report reveals figures that prove beyond any iota of doubt that both the HTC phones and the Samsung phones are way ahead of their rivals.

To begin with let us know what both HTC and Samsung have done so far and what are their targets for the quarter ahead. Well, HTC Corporation notched up an impressive 5.8 million units for the third quarter and is aiming for nine million units sales for the fourth quarter. Similarly, the South Korean mobile phone major, Samsung has done 7.2 million units of sales of its handsets in the third quarter and wants a whopping 10 million unit sales in the fourth quarter.

The sales of smartphones run on Android has certainly influenced these truly astounding figures. With smartphone handsets running on the latest Windows 7 operating system coming up this trend is expected only to go up further.
