Naturally Treat and Cure Gout!

The National Arthritis Data Workgroup estimates that over 6 million people in the United States have reported experiencing gout at some point in their lives. Gout is the most common form of inflammatory arthritis in men over the age of 40. Many people suffer from painful and agonizing attacks on their bodies. · David Suzuki Foundation: In January 2001, BBC News produced a program “Warnings from the Wild, The Price of Salmon”. The program cited a pilot study conducted by Dr Easton with David Suzuki Foundation. The study found that farm raised salmon and the feed they were fed appeared to have a much higher level of contamination with respect to PCBs, organo-chlorine pesticides and polybrominated diphenyl ethers than did wild salmon. It concluded that it seems that contamination in farm fish comes from the feed.

· EWG Report: In July 2003, the Environmental Working Group EWG released a report stating that farm raised salmon purchased in the United States contain the highest level of PCBs in the food supply system. In the report, EWG reported that farm raised salmon have 16 times PCBs found in wild salmon, 4 times the levels in beef, and 3.4 times the levels in other seafood. EWG recommends that consumers choose wild salmon instead of farm raised salmon, and they should eat an 8 oz serving of farm raised salmon no more than once a month.

· ScienceJournal: In January 2004, the journal Science warned that farm raised salmon contain 10 times more toxins (PCBs, dioxin, etc.) than wild salmon. The study recommends that farm raised salmon should be eaten once a month, perhaps every two months as they pose cancer risks to the human beings.

To fish or not to fish – that is the question! Oh, come on. That is no question at all. We all know the answer is to fish and to fish as often as you possibly can. To that end, let us extol upon the reasons why heading out with a rod and real is just a good old idea.

“Even a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.” Ah, this old cliché is utterly true, but most people fail to interpret it correctly. Work does not just mean the 9 to 5 drudgery from Monday to Friday, month after month, year after year. Nope, it also means getting out of chores and the like around the home. Ah, I’ll get to those gutters next weekend!

Lying is both accepted and expected in fishing. Now, what can beat that? Can you name any other sport where a tadpole can become a Pike? Even the smallmouth bass can be converted into a beast that, if it had legs, surely would have been a relative of Godzilla and stomped up and down the local shoreline with ill intent.

Another fine point about fishing is it is fairly straightforward. A fish has three goals in life. It desires to eat, spawn and avoid being eaten. Throw in beer and that sounds like your average guy! Regardless, this makes fishing a pretty simple case of figuring out what the particular fish you are after likes to munch on and the time of day it likes to do that. This sounds complicated, but your local bait shop can give you the run down in a couple of sentences. After that, it is just bait up, cast and kick it.

Now I am fully aware of the great debates of our times on the possibilities of using this or that bait. In most cases, however, I’ve found this is primarily done for the entertainment of the debaters. Fish tend to be pretty simple. Fish see worm, fish eat worm. You can go exotic, but it is not necessary.

Wild Alaskan salmon is caught in a managed, environmentally sound way, while farm raised salmon increase pollution. I have always preferred red Alaskan salmon, but now I know that it is also a “greener” choice. Not something that would be obvious when farm raised fish are supposedly saving us from overfishing wild fish. There are a lot of choices we make each day that impact the re-greening of our planet, in theory, everything one does has an impact on someone and/or something, so you could drive yourself crazy trying to always stay green.
